Assistant Manager of Specialized Employment Services (Lawrence, MA)

CLASS, Inc, a leader in providing adults with disabilities quality, individualized support and services, is currently seeking an Assistant Manager for the Specialized Employment Services (SES) Department.

The SES Assistant Manager will strive to maximize Educational and Employment opportunities for individuals with challenges, both behavioral and interpersonal, who are interested in work within CLASS' facility and in the community. The SES Assistant Manager will assist the SES Manager in hiring, training and supervising all staff, also assist in conducting regularly scheduled team meetings and work in conjunction with the other floor managers to provide all needed supports. The SES Assistant Manager builds and fosters professional relationships with individuals served and members of each individual's interdisciplinary team to ensure ongoing coordination of services in accordance with CLASS' mission. The SES Assistant Manager works in conjunction with other departments, individuals, families, residences, funding sources to ensure that services meet the individuals' needs and promote the individuals' choices. The SES Assistant Manager maintains confidential files for each individual and will ensure that all necessary documentation is completed according to regulatory agency requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Build and foster professional relationships with individuals served and members of the ISP and other teams to maximize an individual's human dignity, community integration and opportunities for self direction.
2. Assist the SES Manager in hiring, training and supervising all staff within the SES program. Provide training for Direct Care Staff on competencies, clinical interventions, behavior management and supports as well as being a resource and providing assistance during times of staff or individual issues.
3. Oversee and manage the in-house work assignments daily, maximizing the individuals' ability to achieve their personal goals. Provide daily oversight and management of work flow, staffing assignments, behavior management and department priorities as they relate to the overall strategic plan.*
4. Oversee and manage coverage at offsite work-sites, ensuring smooth operations and positive communication with customers. Assist the Career Services Floor Manager and Job Developer with time studies and job market research as it relates to the employment department. Works with CLASSWorks staff to coordinate production for Specialized Employment Services.
5. Identify individual needs for clinical and employment services through assessments, evaluations and observations, prioritize those needs and work with the appropriate department to ensure that resources are used efficiently and effectively. Monitor incident reporting to identify needs of support planning and follow-up, as well as all necessary documentation related to all service needs and delivery.
6. In the absence of the SES Manager, performs necessary managerial duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree preferred, Associates degree and High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Minimum of 2 years experience in a workshop or employment support position with job development experience preferred. Must be flexible and actively demonstrate personal desire to enhance the lives of people with disabilities. Must be able to communicate proficiently both orally and in writing to fulfill the documentation and service needs of the agency.
3. Must pass and maintain required certification programs, to include the following: PAC, First Aid, CPR and Medication Certification.
4. Transportation of individuals for work/ recreational purposes. Includes maintaining a current valid driver's license, minimum age of 21 for transporting individuals, driver's clearance per Safe Transport Policy and regular availability of a vehicle in good working order with current inspection, registration and insurance.
5. Flexibility to work with any individual(s) assigned who may require varying levels of support, to include but not limited to, behavioral interventions (may include physical and verbal interventions) and personal care assistance (toileting, eating, etc.).
6. Maintain a flexible work schedule based on the needs of the job. May include on-call or backup staffing as needed and/or evening weekend hours.
7. Flexibility to work in all program areas of the agency, accepting internal transfer on a temporary or regular basis based on the needs of the agency and individuals supported as assigned by management personnel.
8. Employment is contingent upon background check and ability to obtain Driver's Clearance.

Part-time Day Hab Specialist (North Reading, MA)

CLASS, Inc, a leader in providing adults with disabilities quality, individualized support and services, is currently seeking a Part-time Day Hab Specialist to work within our Integrated Day Services Department at our North Reading location.

The part-time Day Habilitation Specialist will provide direct care and skill development training for individuals supported by CLASS. Specifically, this position provides one-to-one direct care to individuals with behavioral issues. The schedule for this position will be 15 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm.

Responsibilities:
1. Work collaboratively with team members demonstrating a positive and supportive attitude to all staff both during interventions and activities as well as all other assigned duties throughout the day.
2. Provide personal care and assistance to individuals consistent with their medical and physical needs. Adapt and make adjustments to techniques based on abilities and limitations. Know and understand the profiles and histories of individuals supported. Understand and implement crisis plans, behavior treatment plans, and medical protocols correctly and consistently.
3. Implement scheduled program activities that enhance Activities of Daily Living and address individualized goal attainment as defined by support plans. This includes the implementation of community activities and providing transportation when requested by supervisor.
4. Complete all documentation required by CLASS (i.e. daily goals, behavioral data, community trips), focusing on providing complete and accurate information.
5. Ensure that program areas are clean, organized, and set up for the day's scheduled activities. Ensure that individuals are safely entering and exiting the building by assisting in daily transition.
6. Complete all mandatory trainings to ensure skill maintenance and development. This includes PAC, CPR and First Aid, trainings mandated by CLASS, as well as other department and state agency required trainings and certifications.
7. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:
-Bachelors degree preferred, a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
-Direct care experience working with people with behavioral issues is required.
-Must maintain valid Driver's license and clean driving record.
-Written and verbal knowledge of English language required.

Career Specialist (North Shore, MA)You will rely on your abilities as a Job Developer, Recruiter or Career Services Representative as you successfully place individuals into competitive jobs in the Greater North Shore Area. Your coaching skills will be needed to assist individuals with professional development, including resume writing and interviewing techniques. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, will be needed to conduct Career Services workshops and to work closely with prospective employers to develop jobs. To be really successful in this environment, you'll use your ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, while still providing high quality and a great attention to detail.

What you will do:
Form relationships with organizations to develop job opportunities.
• Market & provide placement assistance to individuals and monitor their progress.
• Promote CLASS, its programs, and individuals at job fairs, open houses, and other community events to establish a network base within the hiring community.
• Monitor and maintain placement goals based on established standards.Maintains regular contact with employers to monitor employment satisfaction and to suggest accommodation of requirements for hard-to-fill positions.
• Contacts employers by mail, phone, e-mail, and in person to develop appropriate job openings; prepares job orders. Conducts extensive outreach to employers and potential employers to market individuals, to increase pool of employers, increase job bank listing, and develop new job orders.
• Interact with program case managers and other job developers to refine understanding of applicants' needs and identify targeted job development efforts, maintain up to date records.

Required Skills:
Preferred Master's in Rehabilitation, CRC, required: Bachelor's degree in social science, discipline, human resources, business, marketing or a related area from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education preferred.
• At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in executive search, employment staffing, career services, out placement services or sales experience in the corporate sector.
• Excellent communication skills along with a helpful disposition necessary to deal effectively and courteously with internal and external contacts.
• Past history of developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.
• Proficient in utilizing a personal computer and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to multi-task and handle a high pressure environment with timeline pressures.
• Experience in organizing, writing and presenting reports and presentations.

Note: Territory for the position is the North Shore Area. However, position will require travel to Lawrence, MA office for meetings, etc.
