Community Based Day Services,
CBDS, means choices for your loved ones, choices they make for their futures. How they spend their day is as important to you as it is to them.
On the job –
Restaurant and inn cleaning: wiping down tables and chairs, cleaning menus, washing windows and doors, porter work
Mailings: folding communications, assembling the mailing, applying labels and stamps, and taking it to the post office
Supermarket: bagging groceries, stocking shelves and retrieving carts from the parking lot
Office services: filing paperwork in the right folder, sorting and delivering mail to the right department, shredding, answering the phone and directing calls
Landscaping: seasonally sweeping and raking the area
Assisting an elderly person at a nursing home who may not have the opportunity to get out as much as they used to, and their visitor from CLASS brings the outside world in with them.
Volunteering at a used clothing store, gaining valuable experience working for a supervisor and speaking with customers. Preparing for a paying job.
Participating in fitness classes with buddies and mentors.
Finding a part-time job that matches your skill set and interests. Doing the tasks that matter to an employer and doing them well.
